Mohamad Ali – President and Chief Executive Officer
Mohamad Ali is a leader who believes there are very few things that can’t be achieved with focus and determination. Under Mohamad’s leadership our global team is fully engaged in developing and delivering the next generation of business continuity solutions for small and midsized businesses.
Driven by a passion for technology and growth, Mohamad served as Chief Strategy Officer at Hewlett Packard where he played a pivotal role in the company’s turnaround. At IBM, Mohamad lead the creation of the firm’s $8 billion business analytics software unit, and at Avaya, he oversaw the company's $2 billion services group. He was also the CEO of the Workforce Optimization division of Aspect Software.
Mohamad holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering, a B.A. in History, and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He serves on the boards of City National Bank, Oxfam America, and the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council.
Anthony Folger – Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
As CFO at Carbonite, Anthony Folger keeps one eye on our numbers and the other on our future. Together with his team, Anthony is setting our strategy for global development and expansion, and ensuring we have the people, systems and processes in place to be successful every step of the way.
Prior to joining Carbonite, Anthony was CFO at Acronis, where he handled all aspects of global accounting, operations and human resources. Before joining Acronis, Anthony was Director of Finance at Cisco, and Corporate Controller at MarketMax and Habama. Anthony also held senior finance positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte & Touche.
Anthony graduated from The College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in Accounting and Economics, and he is a Certified Public Accountant.
Pete Lamson – Senior Vice President of Global Sales
For twenty-five years, Pete Lamson’s strategic, metrics-driven approach to revenue generation has accelerated growth for leading solutions providers in the worldwide small business market. As Senior Vice President of Global Sales Pete is responsible for Carbonite’s worldwide sales organization and for achieving our new sales and renewal goals.
Prior to joining Carbonite, Pete was SVP and General Manager for NameMedia’s SMB-focused domain marketplace, the largest of its kind in the world, and he served as COO of Monster Worldwide’s consumer relocation division where he helped small businesses convert residential movers into lifetime customers.
Pete holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
Nina McIntyre - Chief Marketing Officer
Nina McIntyre brings a rock solid, twenty-five year track record of operational and executive success to Carbonite. As CMO, Nina drives corporate and marketing strategy while building top-notch teams that deliver industry-leading results.
Nina has held senior leadership positions at leading software and technology firms, including CMO at ATG (acquired by Oracle in 2011), SVP of Marketing at Authoria, EVP of Marketing and Alliances at Centive, and COO at Invention Machine. Nina was a product group general manager at Lotus/IBM and began her career in product management at Atex, a division of Eastman Kodak.
Nina holds a B.A. from Brown University and an M.B.A. from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.
David Raissipour - Senior Vice President, Product & Engineering
David Raissipour began his career in software engineering and he remains a passionate developer of high performing, quality products for businesses and consumers. As SVP of Product and Engineering, David and his team develop innovative business continuity solutions that protect valuable data and keep businesses in business.
Prior to joining Carbonite, David was with EMC’s RSA where he served most recently as VP and General Manager for Identity, Authentication and Fraud products – a $500M portfolio of products. Before Joining RSA, David spent over 14 years at Microsoft where he was an original/founding member of several product teams, including Outlook, Bing Mobile, MSN Mobile and the Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite. Early in his career David held a wide range of Engineering and Product Management roles at startups throughout Massachusetts.
David holds B.S. in Computer Science from Central New England College, as well as numerous technology patents in the areas of messaging, rules processing and bandwidth optimization.
Danielle Sheer – General Counsel, Vice President and Corporate Secretary
As the founding member of Carbonite’s legal team, Danielle Sheer played a critical role in leading the company to a NASDAQ listing in 2011. Danielle oversees our global legal and corporate governance affairs, including worldwide data security and privacy compliance, spearheading our technology patent portfolio for Carbonite’s business continuity solutions and guiding our international expansion efforts.
Prior to Carbonite, Danielle practiced corporate and securities law at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where she specialized in technology-related corporate matters and M&A.
Danielle was named to the Boston Business Journal's “40 under 40” list of emerging business leaders, honored by the Massachusetts Bar Association and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as an “Emerging Leader,” selected as “Maverick of the Year” Stevie award winner for Women in Business, and named an “Emerging Leader for Advancing Women Leaders” by the Boston Business Journal. Danielle received a J.D. from Georgetown University and B.A. with honors from George Washington University. She serves on the board of directors of The Boston Club and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.
Alec Carstensen - Vice President of Human Resources
Alec Carstensen is passionate about creating environments where every employee can maximize their potential and performance. As VP of Human Resources, Alec is responsible for leading our human resources and talent teams in recruiting and retaining the best people to drive our business.
Before joining Carbonite as Director of Talent Management in 2013, Alec was a Group Human Resources Manager and a District Human Resources Business Partner at Target. He also held District Manager positions at Brookstone and Gap.
Alec holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Vermont.
Terri Delfino - Vice President of Corporate Marketing
Terri Delfino is a natural storyteller with a talent for building and leading highly effective B2B marketing teams. As VP of Corporate Marketing, Terri and her team lead our branding and positioning strategy, with the goal of demonstrating the importance and necessity of business continuity to small and midsize businesses around the world.
Before joining Carbonite, Terri served as VP of Marketing Communications at Aras Corporation, an open source product lifecycle management software company. Prior to that, she was Director of Marketing Communications at Copyright Clearance Center, an international licensing firm. Previous roles include marketing agencies, consultancies and B2B startups.
Terri attended Bentley University.
Matthew DiAntonio - Vice President of Business Analytics
Matt DiAntonio combines his mad analytics skills with a detailed understanding of business, marketing and sales models to ensure that every team in the company is making well-informed, data-driven decisions. As VP of Business Analytics, Matt is responsible for developing our global business analytics systems and guiding our team of experts.
Before joining Carbonite, Matt served as Senior Manager of Online Marketing & Web Analytics at Trend Micro. He also was Manager, Online Marketing, Database Marketing & E-commerce at Intermute, a security software company later acquired by Trend Micro.
Matt holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Jim Flynne – Vice President of Operations
For over thirty years, Jim Flynne has been at the forefront of backup and recovery technology. As VP of Operations at Carbonite, it is Jim’s responsibility to maintain the trust our customers place in us, and Jim and his team earn that trust every day by ensuring user data is secure and accessible.
Before Jim led the Operations team, he served on Carbonite’s customer support leadership team for five years. Prior to joining Carbonite, Jim was VP of Customer Support Services at Baydel North America, a high-performance RAID storage manufacturer, where he served concurrently as VP of Support for Baydel’s storage virtualization software start-up DataFrameworks.
Robert Frost - Vice President of Customer Care
Rob Frost is hyper-focused on customer satisfaction and sets the highest standards for customer service. As VP of Customer Care, Rob and our award-winning, global customer care team continually strive to make sure every customer interaction is a positive experience.
Prior to joining Carbonite, Rob was Director of Client Services and Technical Support at Intronis. Rob also served as Senior Director of Support and Global Client Relations at Acronis, where he spent three years in Moscow, Russia, delivering global support in nine languages.
Cassandra Hudson - Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer
Cassandra Hudson leads by example, cultivating loyalty and excellence from those around her. As VP of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer, Cassandra manages all aspects of international finance, accounting, compliance and reporting for Carbonite, ensuring value and integrity in all we do.
Cassandra joined the company in 2008 as Senior Accountant and has since served as Director of Finance and Corporate Controller. Prior to joining Carbonite, she was an accountant for The Davenport Companies and an audit associate for Caturano and Company.
Cassandra holds B.A. and an M.B.A in Accounting from Bentley University.
Thomas Kasper – Executive Director, Carbonite Germany GmbH
As Executive Director of Carbonite Germany and the founding member of our DACH team, Thomas Kasper applies his vast experience in high technology and channel partnerships to lead and grow our DACH business.
Before joining Carbonite, Thomas was Managing Director Broadline at Techdata Deutschland GmbH & Co. OHG. Previously, he held a number of senior roles at ALSO Deutschland GmbH, including Managing Director (COO) and Head of Commercial Distribution and Member of Management Board, as well as Head of the Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Software and Siemens Nixdorf divisions respectively. Thomas began his career at House of Computers (later Ingram Micro).
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Trade and Commerce from IHK München. He also studied medicine at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg.
David Maffei - Vice President of Sales
Dave Maffei has built a winning career by doing things that people say cannot be done. As VP of Sales, overseeing sales as well as channel marketing, Dave is the driving force behind our expansion into multi-tier distribution, with VARs, MSPs, distributors and more.
Before joining Carbonite, Dave was SVP of Global Business Development at Bridgeline Digital and he served as VP of Sales & Corporate Contracts at Ektron. Dave has received numerous honors and awards for his achievements, including 2015 CRN Channel Chiefs, 2015 The VAR Guy’s Top 50 Channel Influencers, 2014 CRN Top 100 Sales Executives and 2014 Talkin’ Cloud 100 Honorees.
Dave holds a B.A. in Business Management & Political Science from Muhlenberg College.
Kim Rose - Vice President of Program Management & Execution
Kim Rose is an expert at rallying the troops and beating deadlines. As VP of Program Management & Execution, Kim is directly responsible for the success of the critical initiatives that drive the future of our business.
Kim joined Carbonite in 2007 and since that time she has applied her skills to leadership roles across the company. As VP of Customer Marketing, she focused on improving the customer journey through nurture programs, loyalty and retention initiatives, and the total online experience. As Senior Director, eCommerce & Retention, Kim increased bookings by improving conversion and retention rates, and implementing email marketing optimization programs. Early in her Carbonite career, Kim served in product management, program management and operations.
Kim holds a B.S. in Mathematics from University of Richmond.
Paddy Sreenivasan - Vice President of Server Engineering
Paddy Sreenivasan lives by the code that iterative, incremental software development is the best way to consistently deliver the highest quality results. As VP of Server Engineering, Paddy leads the development of Carbonite’s server backup products for small-to-midsize businesses, where he manages engineering teams in multiple geographies and directly influences the company’s product roadmap.
Paddy is the co-founder and former VP of Engineering at Zmanda Inc., an open source cloud backup vendor acquired by Carbonite in 2012. While at Zmanda, he led the development of product lines for centralized backup and recovery, cloud backup and MySQL backup. Paddy formerly served as Technical Lead, Engineering Manager at high performance computing company SGI. He began his career as an engineer at Hewlett-Packard.
Paddy holds a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Pune.
Irwin Weiss - Vice President of Information Technology
Irwin Weiss firmly believes that the key to success is doing what you love to do. For Irwin, this means developing and implementing IT strategies that achieve key business objectives. As VP of IT, Irwin is leading the evolution of our business applications architecture so we can better meet the needs of our global partners and small business customers.
Prior to joining Carbonite, Irwin was CIO at Aspen Technology and CIO at Akamai Technologies. In both roles, Irwin provided leadership for global IT strategy, applications architecture, operations, governance and security. He also held senior IT leadership roles at Marcam Solutions, Viewlogic Systems and the Faxon Company.
Irwin holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
Christopher Wey - Vice President of Corporate Development
With dozens of successful corporate acquisitions under his belt, Christopher Wey has a talent for leading thoughtful integrations that show immediate business results and ensure long-term success. As VP of Corporate Development, Chris is responsible for integrating acquisitions into the Carbonite environment, from technology to culture and operations.
Before joining Carbonite, Chris served as VP of Strategy, Technology and Business Development for Avaya Client Services and Director, M&A Integration for IBM's Software Solutions Group. Chris drove more than 30 strategic acquisitions and integrations with a value of over $12B during his time at Avaya and IBM.
Chris holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University.
