Carbonite Online Backup Schedules Launch of Affiliate Program, Invites Affiliates
to Join Beta Test
Carbonite is the only provider of inexpensive, “set and forget” online backup for
consumers
BOSTON, MASS. – March 17, 2006 – Today Carbonite, Inc., the only provider of inexpensive,
“set and forget” online PC backup services to consumers, announced plans to launch
an affiliate program at the end of April. Carbonite’s program will invite web sites,
blogs and e-newsletters to participate in a very lucrative opportunity to earn a
commission for each trial user referred to Carbonite. Because users need only choose
a password and enter a valid email address to download a 30 day trial of Carbonite
– no credit card is required – affiliates are likely to enjoy high conversion rates
from traffic directed to Carbonite.
Beta Program Invitation
Carbonite is also inviting potential affiliate marketers to participate in its exclusive
beta test program in April. Those interested may sign up by clicking the “Affiliates
& Partners” link at the bottom of Carbonite’s homepage: www.carbonite.com. The Company
will use potential affiliates’ feedback to fine tune its affiliate program prior
to the launch of its flagship Online PC Backup service at the end of April. This
service will backup all data (office documents, photos, music, etc.) on a customer’s
PC and will be priced at $5 per month (or $49.95/year) with no pre-determined storage
limit.
Launch of Carbonite’s Flagship Service
Carbonite expects this service will also become available at major retailers such
as Staples, where its first product, PhotoBackup, can now be purchased. According
to David Friend, CEO of Carbonite, “The demand for Carbonite’s first product, PhotoBackup
has been robust. Initial demand has been spurred by our ease-of-use, but also by
horror stories of people losing their data to disasters such as Hurricane Katrina.
I’m confident that our comprehensive backup service, to be launched at the end of
April, will be even more popular. For consumers who want safe, offsite backup of
all their data along with ‘set and forget’ simplicity at a price they can afford
