Transferring files to a new computer is a breeze with Carbonite

Rick Hale is a retired financial consultant who likes to spend time online monitoring his investments and researching genealogy. The last PC he owned was filled with documents, spreadsheets, family photos and many emails. When that PC started behaving strangely at the end of 2014, he decided to get Carbonite.

Up until that point, he had been using external hard drives to back up his data, but not on a regular basis. He decided that an automatic, cloud-based solution like Carbonite would offer greater data protection and peace of mind.

"Carbonite was the easy choice from the various services that I did research on and it worked like a champ in backing up my files," he said. "I love Carbonite."

In June of 2015, Hale decided that it was finally time to replace his increasingly clunky old PC with a new one. And transferring his digital files to the new PC was quick and painless. He simply fired up the new PC, logged into Carbonite and restored his files from the cloud backup service. When Hale had questions about the process, Carbonite’s U.S.-based Customer Care Team was there to help.
