CRN honors 2017 Women of the Channel: Carbonite's Tara Tomei

Tara Tomei

Carbonite's Senior Manager of Channel Sales, Tara Tomei, is being honored as one of CRN's 2017 Women of the Channel. Congratulations Tara!

CRN's Women of the Channel each year honors the accomplishments and contributions of female executives who work within the IT channel. Additionally, Tara has been named to CRN's Up & Comers list, which identifies rising stars whose initiative and creative thinking have positioned their companies for success and are helping to shape the future of the IT channel. Tara recently discussed some of the major issues facing the IT channel today.

What do you think is the most important thing happening in the IT channel today?
Tara Tomei:
Consumers and businesses today have increasingly easy access to thousands of solutions and the data backing them up. Due to this educated buyer, IT channel partners have to be extremely nimble, positioning a number of solutions when given face time with a customer. The channel needs to be just as educated on the latest and greatest technologies and must be able to speak instantly and authoritatively about cloud, hosted, SaaS, onsite and other solutions. The channel needs to be able to explain why these solutions are the right fit for customers. As a manufacturer, Carbonite needs to provide solutions that can fit every environment, while making selling easy and enjoyable for our channel partners.
