Steve Munford succeeds Mohamad Ali and joins Carbonite as President and Interim CEO.
With nearly two decades of executive leadership experience in the security software industry, Steve brings a strong track record of driving operational execution. He has served as a member of the Carbonite Board since January 2014, and as Chairman of the Board since March 2016. Most recently, Mr. Munford served as Interim CEO of Absolute Software Corporation, a leading computer and network security company, where he helped refocus the company’s growth strategy and oversaw the transition to a permanent CEO. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Sophos Group plc, a developer and vendor of security software, where he led the company through a period of rapid expansion and growth and firmly established Sophos as a leading provider of security solutions to the midmarket. Mr. Munford also served on Sophos' Board of Directors from September 2012 to February 2019.
Mr. Munford holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and an M.B.A. from Queen's University.
As CFO at Carbonite, Anthony Folger keeps one eye on our numbers and the other on our future. Together with his team, Anthony is setting our strategy for global development and expansion, and ensuring we have the people, systems and processes in place to be successful every step of the way.
Prior to joining Carbonite, Anthony was CFO at Acronis, where he handled all aspects of global accounting, operations and human resources. Before joining Acronis, Anthony was Director of Finance at Cisco, and Corporate Controller at MarketMax and Habama. Anthony also held senior finance positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte & Touche.
Anthony graduated from The College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in Accounting and Economics, and he is a Certified Public Accountant.
Craig Stilwell brings more than 26 years of IT sales, channels and operational leadership experience to his role as Carbonite’s Chief Revenue Officer. At Carbonite, Craig is responsible for growing our business and optimizing our worldwide sales organization and routes to market.
Prior to joining Carbonite, Craig spent 19 years at Citrix Systems, most recently as the SVP of Partner Sales, VP of US Commercial Business, and as the Regional COO of the Americas. Craig also held the position of senior manager in the consumer products industry practice at Accenture.
Craig holds a BSBA with honors in Finance from the University of Florida and also serves on the Board of Trustees for his local chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Norman Guadagno hones in on that unique place where company brand meets customer need and harnesses it in a way that adds value for customer and company alike. Together with the Marketing team, Norman drives brand strategy, product marketing and overall market awareness for Carbonite worldwide.
Before joining Carbonite, Norman was Senior Vice President of Marketing Strategy at the digital marketing agency Wire Stone, working with clients such as Microsoft, Boeing and Nike. Prior to Wire Stone, Guadagno held senior marketing roles at Microsoft and Oracle, as well as leading creative agencies. Guadagno began his career in the software industry focusing on user interaction.
Norman holds an M.A. in Psychology from Rice University and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Rochester.
Rob Beeler brings more than 25 years of building products that deliver business value to his role as SVP, Products & Engineering at Carbonite. A recognized expert in data protection, high availability and disaster recovery, Rob leads Carbonite’s engineering and product management organization to deliver a modern, secure and scalable Data Protection Platform for businesses.
Prior to his current role, Rob was Vice President of Engineering at Carbonite and was responsible for the design and development of Carbonite’s portfolio of Server solutions. Previously, he was Co-Founder and CTO of DoubleTake Software, which was acquired by Carbonite in January, 2017. Following this acquisition, Rob was instrumental in aligning both organizations around a streamlined platform for future growth.
Rob holds a patent in the field of replication and system state recovery. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky.
As the founding member of Carbonite’s legal team, Danielle Sheer played a critical role in leading the company to a NASDAQ listing in 2011. Danielle oversees our global legal and corporate governance affairs, including worldwide data security and privacy compliance, spearheading our technology patent portfolio for Carbonite’s business continuity solutions and guiding our international expansion efforts.
Prior to Carbonite, Danielle practiced corporate and securities law at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where she specialized in technology-related corporate matters and M&A.
Danielle was named to the Boston Business Journal's "40 under 40" list of emerging business leaders, honored by the Massachusetts Bar Association and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as an "Emerging Leader," selected as "Maverick of the Year" Stevie award winner for Women in Business, and named an “Emerging Leader for Advancing Women Leaders” by the Boston Business Journal. Danielle received a J.D. from Georgetown University and a B.A. with honors from George Washington University. She serves on the Board of Directors of The Boston Club and the Board of Overseers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Lawrence "Larry" Friedman is a highly regarded technologist who enjoys the creative process of solving problems and designing complex systems. As Chief Information Security Officer, Larry and his team build and maintain the strategy and programs necessary to secure both Carbonite's data protection solutions and our corporate IT environment, and to maintain the integrity of customer data.
Prior to this role, Larry was the Chief Technology Officer at Carbonite, where he was responsible for leading a team to anticipate the IT security needs of our customers and engineer data protection solutions. Before joining Carbonite, Larry was a distinguished engineer at RSA Security, where he provided technical strategy and architecture for RSA's Identity businesses. While at RSA, he supported multiple corporate development initiatives, leading M&A technical diligence reviews that resulted in the acquisition of six different companies. Prior to RSA, he held principal engineering positions at Greatway Technologies and Digital Equipment Corporation.
Larry is the co-inventor of 49 granted patents, with one patent pending. He holds a B.A. in Music from Boston University, where he also studied for his M.S. in Computer Science.
